Oat-so-easy apple & blubs crumble
It is always a challenge as a foodie to create something delicious that is also healthy.
You have to have great taste but awesome nutritious qualities to a meal to nurture the soul & the body.
I was craving a dessert which in itself is quite rare. I am by my own admission a 'savoury' fiend.
But, as it happens, i was after a sweet treat after a hard day training that wouldn't undo my hard work but was utterly delish!
I have recently been delving in to plant based whole foods and came up with this quick, simple idea for a crumble.
It is super quick and utterly moorish. You can do a mini pot for one or double the ingredients to make 2 or more.
TO MAKE ONE
You will need:
1 heaped teaspoon of cinnamon
30g maple syrup
1 heaped tablespoon of GO ON Plain Alpro plant based yogurt
First things first, find a suitable mini pot to bake the crumble and set aside (a mini Le Creuset would be perfect).
Cut your apple into small chunks. Place in a bowl with the blueberries and the cinnamon.
Mix in well to coat the fruits.
In a food blender, place your oats and combine with the maple syrup, then whizz up until you get a crumble consistency.
Take your baking pot, place fruit then lay on top your oat crumble.
Place in a preheated over and cook for around 20-30min at 150C (but check how powerful your over is! Mine gets ridiculously hot at 125C so i cook it for around 20min).
Remove from oven. Place a spoonful of Go On Plain Aplro plant based yogurt & ENJOY!
A SIDE NOTE... i ABSOLUTELY LOVE the creaminess of Go On Alpro Plain. It's delicious and is the perfect substitute for cream or even Greek Yogurt. I tried it out of curiosity and it is now a staple in my fridge.
